Johnson dijo en una conferencia de prensa en Downing Street que la medida tiene como objetivo proteger al país del riesgo de introducir nuevas variantes del coronavirus que aún no se han identificado.
El gobierno británico elaboró una lista de países desde los que es posible ingresar al Reino Unido sin obligación de cuarentena en julio pasado.
Hungría se incluyó originalmente en los países en cuarentena, pero fue eliminada de esta lista en septiembre y, desde entonces, los que llegan de Hungría deben pasar diez días o, si se quedan más cortos, todo el período de su estadía en aislamiento.
Así, para los que llegan de Hungría, la medida anunciada por el gobierno británico el viernes no cambia.
