Darius Vâlcov, exministro de Finanzas en el gabinete de Viorică Dăncilă, quien según la prensa había huido a Italia, se entregó en una comisaría cerca de Nápoles el jueves 23 de mayo.
La información fue dada por algunas fuentes de la Policía rumana. Hasta el momento no se sabe nada sobre su extradición.
Vâlcov escapó de la pena de 6 años y 6 meses por cohecho y tráfico de influencias, delitos cometidos cuando era alcalde del municipio de Slatina.
Los jueces del Tribunal de Apelación de Craiova señalaron en su razonamiento que, efectivamente, Darius Vâlcov es culpable, pero que ya no puede ser considerado penalmente responsable. Vâlcov fue acusado en este caso por sobornos de 2,1 millones de lei recibidos de un empresario para obtener un contrato “con dedicación”.
También fue condenado a 6 años de prisión en el Archivo de Pinturas y se esconde en Italia.
