QUITO (Reuters) – El candidato conservador Guillermo Lasso comparecerá en la segunda vuelta de las elecciones presidenciales en Ecuador luego de terminar subcampeón en la primera vuelta el 7 de febrero, dijo el domingo el Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE).
Guillermo Lasso obtuvo el 19,74% de los votos y se enfrentará en segunda vuelta, el 11 de abril, al economista Andrés Arauz, que quedó primero con el 32,72% de los votos.
El candidato ambientalista Yaku Pérez, que quedó tercero con el 19,39% de los votos y 32.600 votos menos que Guillermo Lasso, según el CNE, pidió un recuento en 17 de las 24 provincias del país, denunciando fraude en el escrutinio.
Andrés Arauz, de 36 años, es el protegido del ex presidente Rafael Correa.
