El presidente Klaus Iohannis visitó el sábado el Monumento a los Mártires y la Gran Mezquita de Abu Dabi, en el primer día de su visita oficial a los Emiratos Árabes Unidos.
Según la Administración Presidencial, el jefe de Estado rumano depositó una ofrenda floral en el complejo conmemorativo de los mártires de Wahat Al Karama y firmó los libros de honor abiertos en los dos objetivos.
Wahat Al Karama (en traducción “Oasis of Dignity”) es el primer monumento de guerra construido en los Emiratos Árabes Unidos y está ubicado en el Parque Memorial de Abu Dhabi. El monumento, creado por el artista Idris Khan, está dedicado a todos los héroes emiratíes que cayeron luchando por la construcción de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos.
La Gran Mezquita de Abu Dhabi, también conocida como la Gran Mezquita Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan, es la mezquita más grande de los Emiratos Árabes Unidos y fue construida entre 1994 y 2007.
El presidente Klaus Iohannis realiza, del sábado al martes, una visita oficial a los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, por invitación del presidente de los Emiratos, el jeque Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
