Al margen de la Conferencia Internacional, Exposición y Conferencia que tiene lugar estos días en Abu Dhabi, Kia presentó dos nuevos vehículos militares, el Light Tactical Cargo Truck y el Bare Chassis.
El primero está disponible en dos versiones de distancia entre ejes, si bien puede ser blindado o no, tiene una carga útil de 3 toneladas y se puede utilizar para diversos fines, como transporte de personal, armas, etc.
Está propulsado por un motor diesel de 225 caballos de fuerza acoplado a una transmisión automática de 8 velocidades y un sistema de tracción en las cuatro ruedas. También cuenta con llantas run-flat, sistema de interferencia electromagnética, diferencial de deslizamiento limitado, suspensión independiente y aire acondicionado.
Se pueden construir varios vehículos militares blindados en el chasis desnudo, y la compañía dice que puede moverse en aguas de 76 cm de profundidad.
